In a world where protecting our children is paramount, Nandika Reddy, trust member of Navodaya Central school Raichur (NCS)  for child safety and well-being, spearheaded an insightful awareness program at School. The program, designed to educate and empower students, tackled the critical issue of preventing child sexual offenses.

Knowledge is power, and Nandika Reddy understands this well. The awareness program began by enlightening students about the importance of safeguarding their innocence and understanding their rights. Through engaging discussions and interactive sessions, students were encouraged to open up about their concerns and questions, fostering an atmosphere of trust and communication. She also focused on the awareness where she elaborated about awareness.

Awareness is not just about understanding one’s rights; it’s also about recognizing potential threats. Nandika Reddy shed light on the warning signs that children should be aware of, such as sudden changes in behavior, unexplained fears, or discomfort around certain individuals. Armed with this knowledge, students are better equipped to protect themselves and seek help when needed.

One of the crucial aspects of the program was educating students about the concept of consent. This understanding empowers children to assert their boundaries.

Nandika Reddy emphasized the importance of reporting any form of abuse or discomfort to trusted adults, be it parents, teachers, or school authorities. She highlighted that these adults play a pivotal role in providing support and ensuring that justice is served.

Understanding the legal aspects of child protection is equally crucial. Nandika Reddy acquainted students with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a vital legislation that offers stringent measures against offenders. Knowledge of these laws is essential for both prevention and seeking justice when necessary. The program also highlighted the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment within the school and at home.
